60376 Arctic Explorer Snowmobile.
Lego City caught my attention last year with small but excellent sets.
I was shopping for gifts to give my friends' kids. The Jungle Explorer ATV (60424), Creator 3-in-1 Space Shuttle (31134), and this snowmobile made the cut. Ended up buying myself the Jungle ATV and Arctic Snowmobile too.
Lovely to see the Arctic subtheme revived. It was an Arctic set that got me into Lego as an adult (link).
The base camp (60036) I bought off a garage sale exactly 3 years ago had a snowmobile similar to this one, and it was my favorite part of the set. I sold the base camp some time ago, so it's nice to get meself a new snowmobile.
But it was really the seals which sealed the deal, no pun intended. Utterly adorable.
It's a small build, but you can reposition the seals in different ways.
If you're charmed by the seals and can't get enough of them, I suppose you could go crazy and buy multiple copies of this, like Jay Ong of Jay's Brick Blog did to create a larger island for a herd of seals.
As for the human in this set, she's a really cool minifigure too.
I like her hair-and-beanie combo, as well as her blue backpack and orange reflective jacket.
Overall, the set has a pleasing color scheme -- the orange, blue, and white of previous Arctic sets. The same striking palette is used with the Jungle Explorer subtheme also released in 2024.
Here's the whole set, with a few other friends who might fit in a futuristic snowy setting! From the left to right: Luke Skywalker on his tauntaun, Jetpack Racer, and Ice Planet Explorer. I'll get round to introducing these other minifigures soon . . .
