Lego story #024: "Medieval Travelling Apothecary" by ChristopherS

Remedies for rheumatism, coming through!

The Travelling Apothecary is an alternate build for the 21325 Medieval Blacksmith.

It's one of the best free MOCs on Rebrickable.com made from the Blacksmith set.

There's a fair bit of room for customizing. For example, I changed the window's pentagonal tiles from dark blue to lighter blue and green. If I had more time, I might've modified the colors of the plants and elixirs too.

Access the wagon's interior through a back-door ramp. Or, open the roof.

At first glance, the apothecary's wagon doesn't look like it's made of over 500 parts. But there are many small goodies neatly hidden in compartments.

Besides elixirs and barrels, there are tools of the trade: e.g., pot, pan, flame, knife.

There's also a book and feather pen. (But oops, the book is upside down!)

The roof itself has three storage units: chest, crate, and built-in compartment.

The chest contains herbs and a black vial of dubious properties.

The crate carries 6 miracle elixirs.

The roof compartment has 4 bottles, 2 goblets, a compass, and an axe.

I modified the roof compartment's hinge and lid (above). By mounting the hinge higher, the lid opens more easily. I made the lid thicker and sturdier too.

Other than these details, the rest of the wagon didn't need troubleshooting. It's a really stable structure.

The 2 black bars attached to the roof can be removed and used to prop up the window flap (below).

Welcome to the Travelling Apothecary!
