Lego story #092: Boba's back from the dead

75344 Boba Fett's Starship Microfighter.

This particular Boba is from the TV series The Book of Boba Fett. It tells of how the bounty hunter escaped from a sarlacc pit and got his street cred back.

The white lines on his head are scars from sarlacc acid that never fully healed.

I'm quite taken by this version of Boba's outfit. The black, not present in his earlier versions, reflects the black cloak he wears in the TV series.

When this set first launched, I didn't jump at it because the microfighter didn't excite me. Later, though, I went back for the set 3 years later just to get the minifig.

The iconic ship Slave I now has a sanitized name: "Boba Fett's Starship."

The microfighter's design is actually pretty decent. It props up well in vertical mode.

Slave I flies vertically but parks horizontally.

Very nice that Boba can be repositioned to sit in the cockpit for either vertical or horizontal mode.

No rangefinder accessory was included, presumably because the cockpit won't close fully if a rangefinder is attached to Boba's helmet. Still, you'd think they could just include one teeny tiny stick of a rangefinder anyway.

All in all, a decent microfighter set and the cheapest way to get a post-sarlaac Boba.

As a kid, my favorite character of the original Star Wars trilogy was Boba Fett -- even if he was a very minor character and even if he did have an ignominious end . . . which we now know wasn't the death of him!
