Two more fantastic minifigures come with 77055 Able Sisters Clothing Shop.
If Leif is my favorite shopkeeper, then Sasha is my favorite villager.
I like Sasha because he's easy-going, friendly, and just plain cute. For the longest time I thought he was a female rabbit, the name Sasha being gender-neutral. (Trivia: It was one of my top three baby names for our 2nd child.)
As for Mabel: even if she weren't an iconic regular of the Animal Crossing series, she's got such a cool character design. I wouldn't be amiss to call her the world's 2nd most famous blue hedgehog.
So how could I pass up a set with both Sasha and Mabel?
The build is a charming red-and-white building with a green roof. It's the Able Sisters clothing shop, which appears in most of the main Animal Crossing games.
Though I like the shop's design and exterior look, the interior and surrounding terrain is lackluster to me. I do like the tailoring corner, which features a sewing machine and colorful rolls of cloth, but the clothes and accessories on display are rather boring.
Oh, and one more complaint: I'm not a big fan of the overall color palette. There's something bland about the exterior face, in its choice of greens, blues, and yellows. I might have used bolder colors, like dark brown for the wooden outdoor stall rather than nougat brown, and given it a red roof instead of green.
While it's nice that you can rearrange the outdoor terrain tiles in many different configurations, they aren't very interesting or visually attractive.
In the end, the minifigures are the real draw. Which is arguably true of many Animal Crossing Lego sets. I'd be willing to give up the sets themselves, but it would be hard to let go of minifigs like Sasha and Mabel which have turned out so, so well.
All three of the third wave sets (Celeste, Leif, Able Sisters) are decent. In the end, I was happy I pulled the trigger on them.
