Lego story #041: Is the 41703 Friendship Treehouse a keeper?

I’m on the fence. Sell or keep?

I bought the Friendship Treehouse to give Miss S when she's much older. But I've had second thoughts about whether to save it for that long.

Make no mistake, this is a fantastic set. Though I wondered if I should have gotten her Autumn's House (41730) instead, a more typical dollhouse.

I've been thinking of selling the Friendship Treehouse mainly for cash flow. Miss S isn't big into Lego, at least not yet, so shouldn't I free up money for my own spending -- instead of saving up a set she might not even play with much?

I actually listed the set for sale, only to take the listing down out of guilt and FOMO. For ages I’ve been indecisive about whether to sell or keep it.

Regardless of what I decide in the end, 41703 is a really cool treehouse. As nice as Autumn's House is, the Friendship Treehouse is undeniably more striking, more interesting, and unique. Its play features include a slide, a swing, an elevator operated by crank-and-pulley, and even a wheelchair-friendly bathroom!

If I do end up selling it, it's going to make another kid (or adult) happy. Just like it made me happy while building it.

Beginnings of the treehouse: a ground-floor toilet, wheelchair-friendly!

Below is the entire footprint of the Friendship Treehouse. It's not that large, but the set is chock full of detail.

I forgot to try scanning this QR code hidden behind the birdhouse. Apparently these QR codes show treasures in Heartlake City or somesuch...

We're getting to the end... Here are what the rooms look like. We get two bunk beds, two sleeping bags, and an overall awesome hangout place.

The completed model is ultra slim.

And there you have it. Do you think this set is a keeper?
