Ye olde bedroom attic.
In this post, we'll complete the blacksmith's home with an attic bedroom and roof.
Bag 9 creates flooring and furniture for this attic.
There's a medieval-style writing desk, wooden bed and chest, plus a bearskin rug. It's cute that the bed uses four chocolate "swirls" for bedknobs.
The chest can't close when you put the backpack in, so I hang it on the chest lid. Within the chest lies a compass.
Bags 10 and 11 form the roof frame.
Bag 12 makes one half of the roof, leaving space for a window and chimney.
Above: You can see where those four black "towballs" fit into grey "cups".
Below: The roof isn't attached to anything. It simply rests in tan-colored slots on the floor and leans against the ridge section on top.
Above and below: Here is how the attic looks with one roof-half in place.
Right after I completed this step, I felt I had an awesome dollhouse in my hands. The Treehouse set I built previously has three cool rooms, but they are way smaller than this. The Blacksmith has a more realistic scale for its inhabitants.
Bag 13 adds a chimney and finishes off the roof with its second half.
As before, these sections are joined together by towball-and-cup, making them bendable on hinges in either direction.
In upcoming final post, you'll see the finished model, minifigures, and Bag 14's horse-and-carriage!
